5.8.1. Adjustment of turns of idling and quality of a mix

Idling turns are established only by module EEC IV, and manual adjustment is impossible.

ENGINES WITH THE CATALYST

On engines with the catalyst quality of a mix is regulated by module EEC IV and manual adjustment is impossible.

Adjustments of quality of a mix


Before adjustment of quality of a mix it is necessary:

 – To check up and if necessary to adjust backlashes of valves;
 – To check up a condition and if necessary to replace the air filter;
 – To check up a condition of system of ignition;
 – To warm up the engine to working temperature.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. To connect to the engine a tachometre (at the switched off ignition) and a gas analyzer. 2. To increase turns of the engine to 3000 rpm and to keep them within 15 seconds, and then to translate the engine in an idling mode. 3. To take readings of devices. 4. At a deviation of size of the maintenance WITH to remove a protective cap from the screw of quality of a mix, to increase turns of the engine to 3000 rpm and to keep them within 30 seconds, and then to translate the engine in a mode of idling and, rotating the screw, to establish demanded level WITH. 5. On engines DOHC without the catalyst to uncover a potentiometer of adjustment of quality of a mix (it is located on the right in a motor compartment, behind the total pressure gauge) and to turn the screw for reception of demanded concentration WITH. If adjustment does not give changes in instrument readings, probably that the potentiometer is in extreme position. To establish it in the central position, to turn the adjustment screw on 20 turns clockwise, and then on 10 turns counter-clockwise and to repeat adjustment. 6. On engines V6 adjustment on a forward measuring instrument of a stream of air first of all should be made. Adjustment of a back measuring instrument of a stream of air should be made, only if range of adjustment forward it has appeared insufficiently. 7. To turn the screw of adjustment of a mix шестигранным a key, demanded level will not be established yet WITH. 8. To switch off the engine and to disconnect measuring devices.
